It’s 2018, and the Kentucky Derby gallops into its 144th year. Louisville, Kentucky is a solid day’s trek though, so we thought we’d bring the Derby a bit closer to home.
With the Derby on deck this Saturday, May 5, the unofficial day drinking holiday is off to the races against the tequila-fueled fun of Cinco de Mayo. Will a cool mint julep give the good ol’ margarita a run for its money? Will the Derby’s fashion show of fine linen suits and ostentatious hats compete with a potentially-offensive sombrero? Does Kentucky need to build a wall, or do holidays actually not require borders? We aren’t sure, but we do know that a bit of healthy competition never hurt anyone.
