If you have not heard of Park Chan-wook yet, you will. His award-winning trilogy of revenge movies has made him one of the most famous film directors in his native South Korea. Stoker, his first English-language film, is a psychosexual thriller in the vein of the classic films of Alfred Hitchcock. In the film, India Stoker (Mia Wasikowska) has her world turned upside down when her father dies and her mysterious uncle, Charlie (Matthew Goode), begins living with her and her mother (Nicole Kidman). Stoker is not playing in Toledo, but intrepid cinephiles can find it playing at Ann Arbor’s State Theater. Stoker opens on Friday, March 22. 233 S. State St., Ann Arbor.
