The American Red Cross wants you to go to Cedar Point

Want to receive a free ticket to Cedar Point? Donate blood this summer.

The American Red Cross, Cedar Fair theme parks, K-100 FM and Genoa Bank are partnering to offer one free Cedar Fair theme park ticket to those who donate blood during certain blood drives. The partnership with Cedar Fair encompasses 10 theme parks, including Cedar Point, and tickets are valid for the 2016 season, while supplies last.

“Blood and platelet donations are especially needed during the summer months when donations slow due to summer vacation and travel among regular donors,” said Christy Peters, External Communications Manager for the Red Cross Western Lake Erie Blood Services Region. “Thanks to the support of Cedar Fair, blood donors can help save lives and have the time of their lives at a Cedar Fair theme park.”

“Even the most committed donors can forget to make time to give blood during the busy summer season,” said Peters. “Hopefully, the opportunity to receive a free amusement park ticket will remind people to make summer blood donation a priority.”

Donors can also enter to win one of two grand prize packages for four to Knott’s Berry Farm in California or Cedar Point by visiting redcrossblood.org/cedarfair through September 5.

Cedar Fair is also giving Red Cross donors the chance to purchase 2016 park season tickets at a special price through https://redcross.cedarfair.com and $2 from each ticket purchased through the site will benefit the Red Cross.

People who are at least 17 years of age, weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health are eligible to donate blood.

The American Red Cross supplies about 40 percent of the nation’s blood and is a not-for-profit organization that relies on volunteers and the support of the American public to perform its mission.
