The security cameras at the Motel 6 on Heatherdowns became unlikely heroes last night when their National Geographic quality, high resolution screenshots were posted on Facebook by the Toledo Police Department. Only a few hours after being posted, social media came to TPD’s side and identified the man.
The high-definition video captured the most casual criminal in Toledo’s history while he robbed the motel at gunpoint. While we wouldn’t typically think a Motel 6 would have a ton of cash, apparently they are doing pretty well because holy crap that camera quality is pretty incredible.
In the TPD’s four photos, a smug man in a black hoodie appears to be chatting on the phone while leisurely committing a felony.
Maybe he was asking for advice from a friend? Maybe his mom told him she wouldn’t pay for his hotel room? Who knows. Either way, this guy seems RELAXED. Luckily, karma is an… ahem, and Motel 6’s security cameras were able to give us fine art print portraits of Robbin’ in Blu Ray.
”Hey… yeah I’m not doing much. Just chillin.”
“Mind if I call you back? I’m a lil busy but it’s not a big deal. I can probably text, though.”
“Hey, can you let my Uber driver know this is taking longer than I thought?”
“C’mon man, you heard me on the phone… my girl is waiting for me. Just give me what’s in the register this shouldn’t take so long.”
We’d say he seems like a pro, but he does at least seem experienced. So, so relaxed. Unfortunately for him, and fortunately to Motel 6 and their security camera company, the photo quality led to a quick arrest only a few hours after they were posted online.
