Sautter’s decides to bag the plastic

They look like plastic, they hold as much as plastic, but they’re 100% compostable. Sautter’s Markets in Sylvania and Waterville are using new grocery bags made by Biofutura-US. Constructed from cornstarch and other compostable materials, the new environmentally-friendly bags will completely break down in just 80 days in a municipal or industrial site, or 180 days in a backyard home composter. Biofutura-US is in the process of selling its grocery bags to other stores in Ohio.
