In a week where workers’ rights are under attack by our state government, I found it curious that TCP chose to run a story on Joe the Plumber. Really? First, do we know if he is a licensed plumber? We do know this—that he was used by the GOP as a shill to represent the average worker, which is a farce. I believe his famous question was something to do with making $250,000 a year and being taxed on this income. If this guy can make $250,000 cleaning drains and installing water heaters, sign me up. I actually have a plumbing LICENSE. The fact is, this guy is just another right wing nut job who has a radio show. Wow—just what we need, this is real conversation? 50 local plumbers and steamfitters in Northwest Ohio offered him an apprenticeship and he turned it down to go on his book and speaking tour. This guy is a joke. Why don’t you do
an article on real working people in this part of the country? Not some mouthpiece for the right—as if we don’t have enough already. This guy brings something new to the table? You should be ashamed for running this piece of “journalism.” Marcus Gray via email
