One in every 133 people in the United States suffers from Celiac Disease and requires a gluten-free diet. The Beat the Wheat 5K Run and Gluten-Free Food Fair, now in its second year, aims to raise awareness for Celiacs and the benefits of a gluten-free lifestyle. The event features local businesses that embrace gluten-free recipes, as well as information about the disorder and how Celiac families can support each other. A variety of foods from local companies will show attendees that cooking without gluten can be flavorful.
