Pioneering eats

On Saturday, June 22, the Metroparks will help take your dinner table back in time with a cooking class that promises to be historical and delicious. During "What's Cooking on the Canal?" at the Isaac Ludwig Mill, the Canal Boat Cook will be instructing "time-traveling foodies" on how to make the traditional meals of Northwest Ohio's early pioneers. Participants will have the opportunity to prepare dishes over an open fire and in a wood stove, plus leave with some samplings and a collection of traditional recipes.
