My big fat greek cooking class

Pites are delicious Greek pies with a variety of fillings including cheese, spinach, meat or seafood—made with phyllo dough. On two  Tuesdays, October 1 and 8, the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral will host their Make and Take Greek Cooking Class Series. On October 1, join the church for 'Spanakopita', a spinach pie that is baked in a pan and then cut into squares. On October 8, attendees will learn the art of Baklava, a yummy treat made with buttered layers of phyllo filled with walnuts, honey and spices. Participants should bring a one quart sauce pan and a 3" pastry brush to the class—and don't forget your appetite!

6pm. $45-$50. Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 740 N Superior St. 419-243-9189. holytrinitytoledo.com
