Spring is almost here, and that means it’s nearly beer season. The Glass City Beer Fest returns to suds up the new year on Friday, March 1 with 175 beers from the booths of microbreweries. Choose from local staples like Maumee Bay and Granite City, or tap kegs from further afield — maybe Chicago’s Goose Island, or Cleveland’s Great Lakes. Twelve three-ounce beer samples come with each ticket, and additional samples will be available. Cleanse your palate with food from Vito’s Pizza and City BBQ. Proceeds will support local nonprofits the Northwest Ohio Hemophilia Foundation and the Arc of Lucas County. $30 advance at any Andersons location, $35 at door. 7-11pm. The Lucas County Recreation Center, Hall 2, 2901 Key St., Maumee. 419-724-2739. www.glasscitybeerfest.com. —JS
