Practicing criminal defense attorney Ronnie L. Wingate, a University of Toledo College of Law graduate and winner of the 2017 Liberty and Justice Award from the Maumee Valley Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, leads this Lourdes lecture on criminal justice reform. Wingate will address the recently passed First Step Act and other matters related to U.S. prison reform: a system which holds almost 25% of the world’s prison population.
