Roll out the red carpet—City Paper has been nominated for a Touchstone Award! On Thursday, October 3 at the Toledo Club, the Press Club of Toledo will present the 2013 Touchstone Awards for excellence in journalism, and former staff members Alia Orra and Scott Recker are on the list. Give them some props. Nominees were evaluated by a panel of judges on both the quality and the impact of their journalistic work. The night will feature guest speaker Jim Tankersley, Economic Policy Correspondent for the Washington Post, who was part of the 'Coingate' team at The Blade that was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize. The reception begins at 6pm followed by the awards presentation at 7:15pm.
