Javaughn Collins, a local artist teamed up with Toledo School for the Arts to curate this event.
“This exhibition represents the intricate and boundless experiences, both personal and collective, that individuals within our community carry with them. Through diverse artistic mediums and expressions, this exhibition seeks to celebrate the beauty, resilience and differences within our identities,” Collins said in an Instagram post about the event.
There will be a free reception to kick off the exhibit on Saturday, Feb. 3 from 4pm to 7pm. A catered reception from a Black-owned bakery will be provided to event attendees.
Enjoy Neo Soul music while you take in the art pieces. There will also be a showing of the documentary, Mr Soul! during the reception.
