Toledo Opera and The Toledo Spirits Company teamed up for a special event, “Get into the Spirit of Opera.” The event will be held at the Bellwether at The Toledo Spirits Company, 1301 N. Summit St, on Thursday, Feb. 1 from 5:30pm to 6:30pm.
“Get into the Spirit of Opera” is a Shakespearian-style event, curated to celebrate the upcoming Opera performances of Romeo & Juliet.
“Toledo Opera is excited to be producing this iconic opera for the first time in nearly a decade! We are especially happy to be celebrating this timeless story with our friends at Toledo Spirits – whose continued partnership is greatly appreciated. Join us for a drink; there is nothing like camaraderie to lift the spirits of a community” Suzanne Rorick, executive director of Toledo Opera, said in a statement.

Enjoy three signature cocktails created for the event by The Toledo Spirits Company, a special performance by members of the Romeo & Juliet cast and a prize drawing. The drawing winner will receive two tickets to the opening night of Romeo & Juliet on Friday, Feb. 16 and a $75 gift certificate to spend at Toledo Spirits or Bellwether.
“We are excited to see the return of Toledo Opera, and we are just as excited to be able to experience their world class talent along with outstanding cocktails here at our cocktail bar Bellwether,” Andrew Newby, CEO of Toledo Spirits, said about the event.
The Toledo Opera will perform Charles Gounod’s retelling of the classic Shakespeare story on Friday, Feb. 16 at 7:30pm and Sunday, Feb. 18 at 2pm. Real-life couple Kathryn Lewek and Zach Borichevsky star as the iconic couple in this classic retelling. Tickets for the shows can be purchased on their website.
