A recent Kickstarter by members of the team behind Toledo Spirits has garnered enough to launch a new taproom, to be located beneath Bellwether, on N Summit St. HEAVY Beer Co. raised $11,500 from over 130 backers, beyond the $10,000 goal. Beyond traditional backer incentives like shirts and backpacks, donors could choose from several “adventures,” including a multi-sport event at Oak Openings, nighttime hikes in the woods and even participating in a role-playing game campaign. Planned as an “adventurous” brewery, HEAVY Beer Co. will be housed in the basement of Toledo Spirits Company at 1301 N Summit St. heavy.beer
