Toledo’s event scene just got a major upgrade. Nestled in Cricket West at 3140 Markway Road, The Gather by The Graze Station is redefining how locals host celebrations, workshops and creative sessions. Created by Casey Lucio and Meredith Smalley, owners of The Graze Station, the space blends charm, flexibility and simplicity—giving hosts the freedom to do as much (or as little) as they want.

“We both love entertaining and planning,” says co-owner Casey Lucio. “We realized that Toledo really didn’t have a midsize, turnkey event space where people could host without all the hassle. We wanted to make it easy for others to bring their vision to life.”

Built with the Host in Mind

When Lucio and Smalley imagined The Gather, their goal was clear: to design a warm, functional space that takes the stress out of hosting. The venue seats up to 60 guests comfortably and features a neutral, cozy interior that adapts beautifully to any style or theme.

“The space is very neutral and comfortable,” Lucio explains. “You can do as much or as little as you want for your event. We wanted people to feel like they could walk in, decorate quickly if they want and just enjoy the day.”

With three TVs, comfortable seating and a modern, open layout, The Gather works for everything from bridal and baby showers to corporate meetings, vendor markets, podcasts and even photography sessions. The clean backdrop and flexible setup make it a favorite among content creators and small businesses looking for a professional yet welcoming environment.

A Perfect Pairing: The Graze Station and The Gather

Of course, food plays a starring role. The Gather was born from the success of The Graze Station, Lucio and Smalley’s original business known across northwest Ohio for its artfully designed charcuterie boards and grazing tables.

Guests booking The Gather can bring their own food, but many choose to take advantage of The Graze Station’s catering options—everything from mobile grazing carts to custom boards and pre-made boxes that make any event instantly beautiful.

“On the Graze Station side, we love to entertain,” says Lucio. “We love the look of charcuterie boards and making your event look spectacular while taking a little bit of that work off your plate.”

The Heart Behind the Business

At the core of both The Graze Station and The Gather is a shared mission: to make hosting less stressful and more joyful. Lucio and Smalley, both natural entertainers, built their businesses around the belief that people should actually enjoy their own events.

“Both businesses were created with the host in mind,” says Lucio. “We love being able to take something off of their plate—literally and figuratively—so they can relax, connect, and have fun.”

That mindset shows in every detail—from the flexible layouts to the inviting décor to the ease of booking online through grazestation.com/thegather. The result is a local space that feels personal, professional and perfectly Toledo.
