WBTS 419 (Who’s Behind The Show) is a growing nonprofit with a mission to create a platform for fashion designers, shining a light on local brands, creatives, and culture, and making fashion more than just clothes. It’s an experience.
A Vision Born in Toledo
Founded by Toledo native Micah Lee, WBTS 419 aims to educate designers, give them exposure and build a thriving fashion community right here in the Toledo area.
“We want to make a way for fashion design to grow and thrive,” says Lee, who is also the founder of REVELHEIR, a lifestyle fashion brand that celebrates life’s pleasures.
“Fashion gives us a way of expression and freedom. Fashion still gives people their voice. People can wake up every day and say something different if they choose. I love for people to have their voice,” he shares.
Educating and Empowering Through Community Conversations
Each month, the organization hosts an educational coffee series called The Morning Stitch, featuring panels that explore different aspects of the fashion industry. These gatherings offer designers a chance to learn from stories, lessons and tips shared by successful designers and industry insiders.
“We have a discussion coming up on the logistics of running a fashion business or selling your own product,” Lee explains. “We’ll be talking about sourcing and tariffs. Many designers have to outsource to manufacturers overseas and tariffs can make that process expensive. This talk will help explain what tariffs are, how they affect us, and how we can navigate them without pausing or delaying business.”

A Stage for Local Talent: The Annual Fashion Show
WBTS 419 also hosts an annual fashion show, bringing Toledo’s creative energy to life. Their first show, Metamorphosis, recently took place at the Glass City Metropark, showcasing local talent and celebrating the power of creativity and collaboration.
“We’re going to have a lot of fun with this,” says Lee.

Creating Space from Fearless Expression
WBTS 419 is still growing and tuning in to what the community wants. One thing is certain—community and culture are at the forefront, creating opportunities for growth.
For those who have always wanted to express their unique style but feel nervous to put themselves out there, Lee encourages fearlessness. His REVELHEIR line recently released a sweatshirt that reads, ‘Fear is afraid of me.’
“Fear can bully you away from true expression,” he says. “Don’t let it rob you of your dreams, goals or vision.”
