Like the musical performers he loves to paint, artist Wade Harrison will give an audience a chance to watch him at work. The Toledo native, who now resides in Atlanta, will be painting a portrait of Sun Ra (born Herman Poole Blount, a controversial jazz composer and pioneer of electronic music) to be donated to B-Bop Records. Fans of art and music can see these forms of expression mingle during Harrison’s live demonstration, and student artists on the rise can get a chance to talk to the expressionist painter and watch the dynamic creator at work. The event is free and open to the public, and will be held Tuesday, May 15th from 11 am to 8 pm. Third Space/B-Bop Records, 137 N. Michigan St. 419-535-1234. www.thirdspacetoledo.org.
