Ever wondered what to do with a used pair of flip-flops or an empty ballpoint pen? TerraCycle, an up-cycling and recycling facility out of New Jersey, has recently partnered with retailers Old Navy and Office Depot to recycle used shoes and office supplies. Flip-flops may be donated at Old Navy locations from Friday, April 22, to Saturday, May 21. The shoes in turn will be used to create playgrounds across the nation. Office Depot locations will also accept pens, markers or mechanical pencils from Sunday, April 17, to Saturday, April 23. For every ten items customers will receive a $10 coupon toward new Sanford products, such as Sharpie, Expo or Papermate products. The writing utensils will be recycled into new office and desk organizers.  For Old Navy or Office Depot locations visit www.oldnavy.com or www.officedepot.com
