The Midwest has been generating some hype lately as a literary hotspot—with award-winning novels and poem collections popping up in places like Kalamazoo and Indianapolis. Now, there’s an award winning literary local who has positioned Toledo front-and-center in her next novel. Lydia Netzer, a Detroit-born BGSU alum, made waves in the New York Times and Publisher’s Weekly with her debut novel Shine Shine Shine in 2013. She has just released her second novel, How to Tell Toledo from the Night Sky. To celebrate, she’s stopping by the downtown library for a Q&A and book signing as part of the Open Book program.
