It’s no secret that our current opiate epidemic is a close cousin to the prescription drug epidemic. The Toledo Dental Society’s Opioid Awareness Task Force is doing their part to address this critical issue by holding the Dental Opioid Symposium & Education (DOSE) event, “Given the current crisis in opioid-related addiction, heroin overdoses and deaths, it is incumbent on dental professionals to provide the necessary education to both doctors and patients concerning responsible prescribing protocols,” explained Dr. Matt Lark, chair of the task force. “Our goal for this event is to inspire the dental profession in our region to play an active role in combating this serious and deadly problem.”
