Algae Bloom Beer Returns to Maumee Bay Brewing

Last year, Maumee Bay Brewing Co. worked with The Ohio Environmental Council to make a statement about Toledo’s water crisis with the debut of a mean, green beer: Algae Bloom. A sour double IPA made with matcha powder and kiwi, the beer’s murky, green color and name— a play on the words ”ale” and “algae”— brings ongoing attention to the August 2014 water crisis. Commemorate the crisis, work towards a future of cleaner water, and help raise funds for water treatment and preservation when a special, limited batch of Alegae Bloom returns for one day only.
