Despite the fact that Toledo is ranked #1 in the U.S. for human trafficking activity, the nonprofit Butterflies 15 is the only facility in the area dedicated to helping survivors. The organization is now undergoing renovations and hopes to hire more people before reopening in December, so they are holding a fundraiser gathering, Breaking the Chains of Human Trafficking, to help raise money and awareness. Live music by The Overton Project featuring Carmen Miller, survivor’s telling their stories and a dinner by La Petite Gourmet will be featured at the event.
