The international collective, Music in Familiar Spaces (MFS) will host “Beer & Bach” at the Black Cloister on September 24. With the aim of “reaching out to new audiences through innovative and accessible concerts,” MFS brings classical performances to the local scene with travelling musicians in local venues from city to city.

The right to protest is a fundamental American privilege, and how and what we choose to protest reflects our society and our values. Celebrating Hines Farm Blues Club
Tucked away in Swanton, a stone’s throw west of Toledo, is a musical institution. Opened in 1957, the venue saw some of the biggest names in blues –– B.B. King, Count Basie, John Lee Hooker and countless others— play before boisterous crowds. The club was run by a music-loving couple who were the first African Americans in Northwest Ohio to obtain a liquor license.
