The University of Toledo is performing the play adaptation of The Diary of Anne Frank this November.
The University’s Theatre and Film Department will perform the play from Nov. 9 to Nov. 19 at the UToledo Center for Performing Arts Center Theatre.
The play adaptation of The Diary of Anne Frank was first written by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett, and was adapted again by Wendy Kesseleman. Kesseleman’s take on the classic play includes survivor accounts and recently uncovered writings from Anne Frank’s diary.
According to a statement made by The University of Toledo, “Kesselman’s adaptation adds fresh insight to this familiar script, lifting the young protagonist’s voice from the pages of her famous diary and introducing material from contemporary radio broadcasts to help to ground this intimate story in the happenings of the larger world.”

The production is directed by Dr. Matt Floss, an associate professor of theatre at UT.
Foss has fused his theatrical expertise with advice from the Toledo Jewish community to direct the play.
“We see the need for urgent and necessary engagement with both this history and with what this story has to tell us for this time,” Foss said.
You can see the play on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 pm, or on Sundays at 2 pm. Tickets for the performance start at $10. Purchase them at the box office or prior to the event on Tix.com.
Parking for the event can be purchased on the ParkMobile app or a parking meter. Parking is free on Sundays.
