Penta Career Center’s Upcoming Culinary Events

Penta Career Center is a Public Vocational High School and Adult Education center located in Perrysburg Township, Wood County, Ohio, that opened operation in 1965. It serves 16 school districts from the five counties of Fulton, Lucas, Ottawa, Sandusky and Wood, hence the name “Penta.”

The Penta Career Center has many different programs and events, one such event that goes on over a large portion of the year is their culinary calendar. As a part of this calendar the career center brings in two to three chefs to be featured for the days provided.

There are still some days left where the career center has chefs being featured. These days and chefs are April 3 and April 4 featuring chefs Isabelle Underwood and Ryan Weisbrod, April 17 and April 18 featuring chefs Peyton Baumbarger and Anthony Currier, May 1 and May 2 featuring chefs Benjamin Aldrich and Justin Savage-Brown.

Penta offers career assessment to assist students in realistic planning for the future by helping them discover their interests, abilities, career preferences and learning styles. Certified Career Assessment staff work with students individually to support them in determining options for their high school education and beyond.

Students interested in enrolling in the Sophomore Exploratory program or the Sophomore Advanced Manufacturing Academy will complete a career assessment. High school students at other grade levels can request a career assessment by contacting their school counselor.

Career-technical programs are also offered as early as tenth grade for students who would benefit from specialized instruction and support services. Admission to these programs requires a referral from the student’s high school counselor.

These programs include:

  • Automotive Technology
  • Construction & Building Maintenance
  • Culinary & Hospitality Services
  • Horticulture – Floral & Greenhouse Services
  • Horticulture – Landscaping & Outdoor Services
  • Inventory & Warehouse Operations
  • Medical Technologies
  • Welding

Applying for admission to Penta Career Center is easy for high school students enrolled in any of the following member school districts: Anthony Wayne, Benton-Carroll-Salem, Bowling Green, Eastwood, Elmwood, Genoa, Lake, Maumee, North Baltimore, Northwood, Otsego, Perrysburg, Rossford, Springfield, Swanton and Woodmore.
