Burkett Restaurant Equipment and Supplies announced that their annual Mike Burkett Memorial Golf Outing, held in August, raised a total of $24,000 for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society this year.
The outing was created in memoriam of Burkett, who, after fighting 34 years, passed away from multiple sclerosis.
Julie Leggett, the Ohio Chapter President of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society accepted the donation from Burkett, with several others whom represented the three premier-level sponsors, from Zink Foodservice, Manitowoc and True Manufacturing.

The 2023 proceeds were matched by Karen and Brian Rasefske, Darci and Craig Weaver and the Gillett Family Foundation to create the $24,000 total for the year.

Since 2021, the golf outing has raised $51,000 for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
“To see the success of this outing and the continuous generosity of our partners supporting the National MS Society is unbelievable. My father would be proud of the work we are doing in his honor, and words cannot express what this means to me personally,” Jameel Burkett, president and CEO of Burkett Restaurant Equipment & Supplies, said.
According to Mike Metzger of Burkett Restaurant Equipment & Supplies, the golf outing attendees traveled from near and far to attend the event in August, traveling from as far as North Carolina.
Two attendees also received awards.
“Matt Hiegel of Dynamic FoodService Solutions was awarded 2022 Vendor of the Year, and Dynamic FoodService Solutions was also honored as the 2022 Representative Group of the Year,” Metzger said.
