Ezra Pound once said that “all great art is born of the metropolis,” and while this might be an exaggeration, Pound’s statement rings true about a city’s ability to nurture expression. Explore the many ways artists have been inspired by urban environment during a collaborative show in the TMA’s Hitchcock Gallery during The City. The exhibit features 40 works curated from the TMA collection by students of Art Museum Practices and New Media Design Practices at The University of Toledo. From architecture and romance to urban tragedy, discover the history of the complex relationship between artists and cities in this collaborative show.
