Discover American Indian Art

What comes to mind when you think of “American art?” While some imagine modern aesthetics, historically informed by Western and European art, American art preceded that. Discover the artistry of Native American peoples during Lourdes University’s Lifelong Learning class, American Indian Art with Jamie Oxendine. A member of the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina, professional educator, musician, writer, storyteller, civil rights activist and director of the Black Swamp InterTribal Foundation, Oxendine will discuss the art of Southeastern Woodland cultures, as well as the arts and crafts of tribes from across the continent.
