BYO Crafty Hang-Out

Get creative at this weekly crafting meet-up, Tuesday, January 6, noon–2pm, at Vod’s Here, Sewing and Craft Emporium, 5800 Monroe St Bld D Unit 2. Bring your own project or choose from one of the shop’s ready-to-make craft kits, then settle in for an afternoon of hands-on fun with fellow makers. Collab Class: Pottery & Weaving (18+)

Discover the beauty of blending clay and natural fibers in this two-part collaborative workshop at The 577 Foundation, 577 E Front St., Perrysburg. The class begins on Wednesday, January 14 from 12–1pm, where Pottery Manager and ceramic artist Julie Beutler guides participants through creating a ceramic base, adding texture and edge holes and selecting a glaze. After firing, return on Wednesday, January 28 from 1–4pm for the weaving session with Organic Garden Horticulturist Samantha Day. $58. 577foundation.org

Kindred Spirit Gallery Reception

Experience an evening of immersive visual art as Toledo School for the Arts opens Kindred Spirit in The Portal Gallery, 1401 Adams St. On Friday, January 23 from 6–8pm, artist Dean Davis unveils a vibrant series of mural-based works exploring the “kindred spirits” we discover in nature as children and the inspiration they continue to spark. 100 Works of Art Partnership Launch

Experience a morning of visionary public art as Keep Toledo/Lucas County Beautiful and River Gallery Studio unveil the expansive 100 Works of Art initiative at the Glass City Pavilion, Glass City Metropark. On Monday, December-10am, artist Dean Davis joins community partners to announce an ambitious plan to create 100 large-scale murals across Lucas County—an evolution of the original River Gallery Project honoring Toledo’s history and creative spirit. Attendees can explore how this multi-year effort will energize neighborhoods and celebrate local stories. Free. ktlcb.org.
