The animals at the Toledo Zoo aren’t just curious, they’re creative. Two upcoming events demonstrate the expressive prowess of NW Ohio’s most unusual artists:
- The Toledo Zoo AAZK (American Association of Zoo Keepers) chapter will host a paint-night fundraiser to support tiger conservation efforts. Nearly extinct because of poaching, the big cats preservation will benefit from “Eye of the Tiger” inspired paintings as Zoo animals, and their keepers, create works of art that will be available for sale. Cash bar and light snacks 6:30-9pm. Monday, August 7. $45 ($15 goes toward tiger conservation effort) Toledo Zoo Reptile House.
- Wild about Art: a showcase of nearly 100 talented local and regional artists with beautiful art available for purchase, from booths scattered throughout the zoo. There will be a glass flameworking demo, kids activities, face painting, live music, and live demos of art being made by artists and animals. 10am-5pm. Saturday-Sunday, August 5-6. Free with admission to the Toledo Zoo.
