“All I need are some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I’m fine.” When Fast Times at Ridgemont High debuted in 1982, it was an epically quotable true-to-life depiction of teenagers and their struggle. Tackling abortion, masturbation, and friendship, the movie was ahead of its time and today feels even more cutting edge.
Making household names out of Sean Penn, Judge Reinhold, Jennifer Jason Leigh and infamous for one red bikini, this movie is getting a 35th-anniversary re-release. TCM’s Tiffany Vazquez and Ben Mankiewicz will do a special commentary for the movie.
