Toledo Symphony performs Mahler’s 5th

Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 5, best known for the distinctive trumpet solo that opens the performance, is a boisterous and exuberant musical journey that ends with as much energy as it begins. On May 16 and May 17, the Toledo Symphony Orchestra will perform this epic piece at the Peristyle Theater in the Toledo Museum of Art. This unique version will pair the symphony with Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto in E minor—an epic in its own right that pairs perfectly with Mahler’s symphony to create a beautiful sonic experience.

8pm. $22 – $54. Toledo Museum of Art, 2445 Monroe St. 419-246-8000. All seating reserved, to purchase tickets visit toledosymphony.com
