The indie folk trio, Oliver Hazard, from Waterville, Ohio will be hosting the sixth
annual Oliver Hazard Day Music Festival in their hometown. The festival will take
place on Saturday, Aug. 17 in downtown Waterville, Ohio. Doors at 4:30 pm.
This year’s lineup will include Oliver Hazard, Susto Stringband (feat. Holler Choir), Bre
Kennedy and Jeremie Albino. The event will also feature special DJ sets from Toledo native
Jon Zenz and graffiti by Toledo native Chilly Rodriguez.
Oliver Hazard has teamed up with Buffalo Rock Brewing Co to create the “Oli” Session IPA, which will be available for purchase at the festival. They have also teamed up with Vellabox to create two signature Oliver Hazard candles, the Wild Eyed Blue candle (inspired by their recent single Wild Eyed Blue) and the official Oliver Hazard Day candle.

According to Oliver Hazard’s Michael Belazis, Oliver Hazard Day 2023 had around 2,000 people in attendance. Belazis and the rest of the band are expecting a similar turnout for the 2024 edition.
“For me, we knew Oliver Hazard Day would grow as the band grew. Like a “building block” mentality. Last year was the first year where we saw 50% of the ticket buyers were not from Northwest Ohio, which is pretty cool. It’s starting to become more of a tourist event, beyond what we could’ve imagined; we even know people who are traveling from Scotland for this. In general, it’s cool seeing people come to the community we started the band in,” Belazis said.
Giving Back
Every year, Oliver Hazard Day gives a portion of the proceeds from the event to a local charity.
This year, they will be donating 100% of the concessions profits to the Toledo Arts Commission.
Belazis said, “We love their work, and this is important to us being a NW Ohio band. When we were just getting started, they awarded me with a grant that I used to buy our first guitar for the band. I just thought it was so cool that an organization supports artists and the arts in Toledo. They can help jump-start people’s careers, and that was super important to me.”
