Just in time for Oscar season, the Toledo Symphony Orchestra will conduct a one-night only compilation of some of the most memorable sounds to come out of Tinseltown. Each piece of music has been nominated for a "Best Film Score" Oscar in the past. The concert, conducted by Jeffrey Pollock, will cover themes from John Wil- liams, Henry Mancini and other lauded film composers. Think of it as Hollywood's greatest hits, featuring tunes from cinema's golden age (the theme from Gone with the Wind) as well as modernity's memorable tunes (a symphonic suite from The Lord of the Rings). Personally, I'm excited to hear a full version of the Pink Panther theme.
