The Waterville-based Buffalo Rock Brewing Company has acquired a former fire station in Oregon, at Seaman and Wynn, for use as a second brewery. Rehab and reconstruction of the property is expected to take about a year. When the Oregon brewery opens, there may also be rooms to let for travelers seeking a unique experience in a fire station brewery. The Stone’s Throw Tavern & Grill in Bowling Green has closed its restaurant. The space will be changing hands and will re-open as Guajillo’s Cocina Mexicana, which is currently operating in the old Dairy Queen Building. 176 E. Tabby and Fido’s, a cat cafe, is now open in Bowling Green. A rotating menagerie of up to 10 cats are available to visit with during appointments. The cats and kittens are available for adoption and cafe proceeds benefit the Wood County Humane Society. Other available services include twice-monthly cat yoga, kiddie story time, private parties and a cat lounge membership that includes free tea and coffee.
