It’s the culmination of a sweet dream for Shawna Easton, and a satisfying stop for Sylvania folks, as Syd’s Bakery in Mayberry Square cruises along under new ownership. Easton took over the business in the spring, after a chance meeting with previous owner Julie Spencer. She’d been interested in the location for years while working in the restaurant business, and seized her chance to break into baking. Syd’s features fine cake decorating for all occasions and hand-rolled and hand-cut donuts made fresh every day. You’ll even find them at local In-and-Out Marts!
