Thinking of adopting a shelter dog, or just want to see what it feels like to have a dog in your home? Participants in the Wood County Humane Society’s new Sleep Rover program can take one of the Humane Society’s shelter dogs home for a night’s stay, or a full weekend, to give both the dog and the human a chance to see how they behave in a home environment. The Toledo Area Humane Society’s “Home for the Holidays” is a similar program where participating families can bring a dog or cat home for Christmas week. Invite a pet over this holiday season!
