We’re never only one thing. Each of us represents an intersection of different identities, and discovering how our unique identities make us who we are is empowering.
Join Eclipse, a group of local activists who want to celebrate the unique experiences of African-American, Latinxs, and other people of color within the LGBQT+ community, for two upcoming events:
First, enjoy conversation, stories, and fun during a potluck-style reception, with additional catering provided by J’maes Home Cooking and The Caribbean Breeze Restaurant and Lounge. 6-8pm. Wednesday, August 8. Collingwood Arts Center, 2413 Collingwood Blvd.
Next, spend Throwback Thursday on the dancefloor at Georgjz419. Dee Jay Tone Smith from Detroit’s Woodward Club will spin house, R&B, and Latin dance music during this fundraising event. 6pm-2:30am. Thursday, August 9. Georgjz419 Fun Food & Spirits, 1205 Adams St.
Both events are free, but donations are encouraged.
