Another loving spoonful

The only thing better than coming back for seconds is coming back for thirds. Community members still hungry for improvement should stop by Toledo SOUP’s 3rd Course event. ToledoSOUP gives Toledoans a chance to learn about and support projects benefitting the Toledo area. The format works almost like a Kickstarter campaign but with more chicken stock: show up, donate $5 at the door (only $1 for the 12-and-under crowd), then feast on a hearty bowl of soup while a budding entrepreneur presents a small-dollar project concept. Everyone then votes for their favorite project, and the one with the most votes will be awarded all the collected funds.

Past events helped successfully fund Art Around Town and Glass City Pedicabs.

Submissions for this event include painting a halfway house for women coming out of human trafficking, providing young area musicians the opportunity to write and perform original music, and beautifying the Macelwane Basketball Court in the Old West End.

Attendees should arrive early to check out An Afternoon With Art, an art fair/bake sale situated right outside of Toledo SOUP’s meeting spot, which runs from 12-5pm.
Sunday, September 8. 5-9pm. The Toledo School for the Arts, 333 14th St. For more information and to RSVP to the event, visit toledosoup.com
