Touchdowns and Tailgates: Fans Celebrate Game Day

Tailgates are a common way to celebrate game days no matter the sporting event. Typically, this social event involves fans cooking or grilling food and drinking in the parking lot of the stadium which the game will be held. Of course, near the tailgate of a vehicle, hence the name.

At times, these tailgates can get a little wild as alcoholic beverages are usually present. So, when it comes to college football, the fans go all out!

From burgers, to dogs, to fruit, to drinks, to beer, to liquor, and back to family-friendly activities these tailgates have something for everyone to indulge in.

Especially when it comes to the homecoming edition of the University of Toledo’s tailgate, it set the standard high. Tailgaters enjoyed corn hole, cup pong, games, a DJ, but most importantly socializing.

Walking through the parking lot and other designated tailgate spots, hundreds, if not thousands of fans were decked out in midnight blue and gold representing their beloved Rockets. Their game day attire was not all, there were also flags, banners and even parade floats displaying their love for the team.

Despite the many college students participating in the popular day drinking games, nonetheless there is still a decent balance of fun fit for the little ones as well.
