Submit nature photos in new Ottawa contest

Photographers with an eye for beautiful outdoor visuals have a chance to have their work displayed in a 2022 calendar thanks to the 2021 Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge Photo Contest.

Entrants are encouraged to submit photos taken on any federal public land— this includes national parks, forests and wildlife refuges — on the Friends of Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge Website through September 4.

Categories for submission include subjects like Birds, Landscapes/Plants, People Enjoying Nature and Wildlife Other Than Birds.

All entries will be displayed online, and winners will be included in the upcoming 2022 Public Lands Calendar which will be made for sale on the Friends of Ottawa website later this year. Winning entries will receive a free copy of the calendar, while the artist who took the photograph deemed Best of Show will be given a private bus tour of the Ottawa Refuge.

Entry is free to all, and participants are welcome to submit one photo per category. For more information or to enter the contest, visit friendsofottawanwr.org/photography-contest.html
