What would be worse: to see malicious destruction overrun your city or have to blindly listen to it unfold on the radio as you’re stuck in the middle. Owens Community College student Matthew Cooper explores the latter in his thriller Closing Broadcast, the story of a night reporter who is holed up in the newsroom by herself, when terrorists attack the city, only able to visualize unfolding events from a police scanner. Cooper — who wrote, directed and produced — received $7,500 worth of funding from business man Rich Iott, some of which was used to rent one of the best compact cameras of the market — the Red One. $8. 8pm. Collingwood Art Center, 2413 Collingwood Blvd. 419-244-2787. www.collingwoodartscenter.org.
