Here comes the rain

Don’t let a valuable resource go down the drain. The City of Toledo is pairing with Rainbarrels4water.com to offer $75 rain barrels, making them an affordable option for Toledo homeowners. The earth-friendly accessory catches runoff from a structure's roof that would otherwise end up in sewers — after first contributing to soil erosion and water pollution. The water can then be used in the yard and garden, recharging the groundwater rather than carrying pollutants into the water supply. The barrels hold 65 gallons and include all necessary parts. To order yours, go to rainbarrels4water.com.  Pick up will be at the city's Division of Environmental Services on Friday, May 25 from 7:30am-5:30pm. 348 S. Erie St. 419-936-3015.
