Discuss Reproductive Justice with TLCPL and Solace Health & Wellness

Toledo Lucas County Public Library’s Steinem Sisters Collection Talking Circle club teamed up with Solace Health & Wellness for a special presentation about reproductive justice.

Reproductive Justice with Solace Health & Wellness will take place on Thursday, June 20 from 6:30 pm to 8 pm at the Maumee Branch Library.

The Reproductive Justice Framework states that we should have the right to have children, the right to not have children, the right to raise the children we do have in safe and sustainable communities and the right to autonomy over our bodies and health.

According to the TLCPL website, “reproductive justice is the complete physical, mental, spiritual, political, social and economic wellbeing of women and girls, based on the full achievement and protection of women’s human rights.”

Solace Health & Wellness is a sexual and reproductive health, wellness and justice space established in 2021. The organization works to educate and advocate for Reproductive Justice. They offer a variety of services including nutrition, pregnancy care, mental health, social support and much more.

The Steinem Sisters Collection is a feminist collection of books that explore the lives and achievements of women, created to honor Toledo feminist legend Gloria Steinem. The group has a club that is reading through the entire collection, with their next meeting set for Monday, June 3 from 7 pm to 8 pm, where they will be discussing Remembrance by Rita Woods.
