At first glance, ‘Nurse Blake’ sounds like a gimmick or another prop comic. Having created the hugely successful NurseCon – an annual nursing conference set on a cruise ship which saw its attendance rise to over 4,000 this year – Lynch returns to the stage as a fast-rising success in only his sixth year doing comedy.

Mike Birbiglia – Stop the Ride Tour

Birbigs.com

With his nuanced perspective on the little things in life, Mike Birbiglia has continued his string of producing top-notch comedy since the late-90s. Hope Stein) hit the shelves. His new tour features more of the wholesome takes on everyday life and should fit quite nicely into the run-up to the always crazed holiday season.

The film is shaping to be a compilation of documentary footage shot for Channel 5 over several years and pertaining to a variety of subjects such as Immigration, the Vegas Tunnels and the Utah Rap Festival. Whereas Channel 5 deals with heavier, even seedier subjects with a humanist approach, All Gas, No Brakes is a Daily Show style interview show where Callaghan will invade (for instance) the Furry Convention and speak to anyone willing to make a fool of themselves on camera. Through its humor, both shows do a terrific job of revealing a face of America often overlooked even in independent journalism.
