The story of a woman who defied conventions en route to becoming America’s first licensed female physician— and her sister who was even more brilliant— will be the focus of the May meeting of the Gathering Volumes History/Biography Book Club. “The Doctors Blackwell: How Two Pioneering Sisters Brought Medicine to Women and Women to Medicine” by Janice P.
