It’s an exciting time to be in the Toledo area, as Twin Entertainment LLC and PMG1 productions (who have backed other events like the Anthony Hamilton, Chrisette Michele, and Avery Sunshine concert in Toledo and the Matrix Party in Chicago, respectively) introduce a new, euphoric music event, A Journey Into Sound, to the Seagate Convention Center on Saturday, September 19th. This premiere concert of the tour was chosen to be held in the Glass City, and it will include a blend of Chicago-style house music mixed with electronic dance music (EDM) and techno sounds.
Derek Smokin Jones, DJ and creator of the event, said, “Toledo has an awesome energy and great people. I couldn't have passed up the opportunity to share good music and new memories with the people of Toledo.”
With origins in Chicago in the 1980s, house music and EDM became a large part of the music industry across the United States and have become international genres. These styles of music blend computer programs, synthesizers, turntables, and other equipment to create a unique, modern sound that truly energizes the audience. At a house concert, there is a distinct family and community vibe. Everyone is there, dancing together, and having a great time listening to the music they love. This new concert series will be a unique experience with pulsing beats and charismatic performers.
In the Toledo area, familiar techno legends include DJ Dennis Cox, DJ Todd Sandman, and DJ Omar Garcia. DJs from the Chicago area as well as local DJs from Toledo will be performing at this event, and it will be hosted by Chicago-based, up-and-coming music group Muzic Fuzion Factory. DJ Soundstorm, Mr. Gene Hunt, and DJ Phantasii are the entertainers from Chicago that will be performing. DJ Deez, from Canada, will also be entertaining the crowd.
“I’ve never seen anything like it, on this level, in Toledo. I have received very positive feedback from the local techno community and Michigan area communities about this event,” said the event’s marketing representative, Donnetta Carter.
About the Concert
It will certainly be a night to remember. The general admission event starts at 8pm, but the pre-party available to those who purchase VIP tickets will start at 6pm. The pre-party entertainment will include local DJ Rob Sample and a guest DJ selected by radio station 92.5 Kiss FM. VIP ticket holders will have the opportunity for meet-and-greets with the artists and DJs, as well as chances to take photos and ask the DJs questions.
The promoter of the event, Dan Robinson of Twin Entertainment LLC, has only positivity and excitement for the upcoming concert. “It’s going to be a great night,” he said. “The idea behind the event is to take these different styles of music and merge them all together into one. In turn, we’d like to take it across the country, with Toledo being our starting point,” he continued.
A booming sound system, bright and colorful laser lights, and exciting interactions between the music fans and the entertainers are the advertised draws to the event, in addition to the local and Chicago-based talents. Vendors will be on-site as well, selling merchandise such as fun, unique t-shirts designed for the new concert series phenomenon. This once in a lifetime community event will be sure to entertain all audience members, even if they are new to the genres of techno, house, and EDM, because of its welcoming and lively atmosphere.
