Born in a city rarely associated with country music, Detroit’s Deadstring Brothers play high energy alt-country with hints of rock n’ roll and delta blues. On Friday, October 4, they will bring their talents to the Village Idiot for a night of cowboy-rock excess. The group, which formed in early 2003, has released 5 full length albums, including their most recent country- based album ‘Cannery Row’, which mixes the band’s Motor-city roots with southern twang.

8pm. $5. The Village Idiot, 309 Conant St., Maumee. 419-893-7281. villageidiotmaumee.com
