Count Basie and Duke Ellington were the biggest of the big band leaders in the middle of the 20th century, and their ghost bands, along with jazz singer Ramona Collins, will swing during the Toledo Jazz Orchestra’s “Battle of the Bands.” Audience members will decide the winner after hearing compositions by Count Basie for one half of the performance, and Duke Ellington for the other.
